Our Coffees
We wanted to make the artisanal coffees we love for everyone. Our Master Roaster, Wayne (definitely the most serious guy we work with) sources and roasts beans in partnership with one of Europe’s top coffee roasters, creating consistently outstanding blends that speak to a range of tastes; from light roasts that preserve the bean’s unique characteristics, to rich dark Italian style coffees that slap you round the face with a massive salami.
Sustainability
is our bag
Our beans are ethically sourced, and Fairtrade certified and our packaginging is sustainable. Frankly anything less and we wouldn’t be able to look ourselves in the mirror, and geese are very vain, so that would be a disaster. We also work with selected organisations such as Ecologi and The Waterfall Project to make a positive impact.
Our Pods
We know how big a problem coffee pods can be. While a lot are recyclable the truth is that most end up straight in the landfill where they stay for about a bajillion years. Ours are made of compostable material, which means if they can be fed to your worms, so if you’re a worm who loves good coffee, happy days.

The CBD Effect
According to the National Institute of Health, introducing CBD to the body can help reduce the symptoms of a wide range of illnesses including epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, chronic inflammation, depression, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and anxiety. Crucially for us, to get the benefits of CBD you have to take it regularly. And while a lot of us forget to take supplements and vitamins, few forget our morning coffee. Did someone say ‘perfect solution’?
The right amount
of good stuff
Silly Goose coffee is infused with 10mg of CBD per pod, and 1mg of CBD per g of coffee in our bean and ground range. This is a standard measure, of course we are all unique and how our bodies interact with CBD will differ, but this is a great place to start and a safe, healthy amount.
So how much should I have?
The UK Food Standards Authority (FSA) recommends that healthy adults do not take more than 70mg of CBD a day unless you have consulted your medical professional. Find out more from the FSA here. Our Process Taste, Roast and Delivery
When we started developing our product we were adamant that our CBD coffee would taste exceptional, and deliver high quality CBD to the cup. That might sound simple, but it ain’t.
As with all coffee, the key is in with the beans and the roast. It doesn’t take a genius to know that, but throw CBD in the mix and it does take a genius to get it all perfect and deliver unaffected CBD to the brew. Luckily we have a genius.
Our Master Roaster, Wayne (definitely the most serious guy we work with) starts with beans from Central America, South America and Africa, and then he gets his roast on.
The Silly Goose Method
This is where it gets pretty technical, and is as much an art as a science, but through a process called the Maillard reaction, starches are broken down into simple sugars, which gives coffee its colour, while aromatic oils weaken and new oils (namely caffeols) start to form.
Why are we sciencing out like this? Fair question, it’s because this process is at the heart of our proprietary method for getting the CBD into the coffee. Because of the grade of CBD we use, and the way we add it to the roasting process, neither the flavour of the coffee, nor the potency of the CBD are affected. It also ensures that the CBD makes it to your cup, just as much as the coffee itself.
That might seem like a lot of detail, but as coffee and CBD nerds in equal measure, it’s important to us. Some other CBD coffees use different methods that either taste funky, or fail to deliver on CBD. It’s important to ask questions and stay informed my friends.
Sustainability
Our pods are 100% home compostable and biodegradable, so you can enjoy your coffee with peace of mind. Loads of pods claim to be biodegradable, but often need to be sent to specialised facilities, which they usually aren’t. Not cool, other pods.

Our Beans
Our coffee is grown in Africa and Central America, then we source it from ethical coffee trading houses in Europe.
Our Pods
Our coffee pods are sourced from Switzerland, and are the highest of quality. They are made from bio-based materials and are 100% home compostable and biodegradable. After use they could end up as compost, electricity or heat!
Our Roastery
Our roasting house is in Cape Town, South Africa, and we are looking forward to opening a roasting house in Switzerland.

Our quality CBD Isolate is primarily sourced from the USA, from a market leading supplier.
